First Annual Corn-a-ment
to Support Future Centers at LCS High Schools

The First Annual Cornhole Classic to benefit the Lynchburg Beacon of Hope. Sponsorship available to compete in the tournament. Craft Beer, live Bluegrass Music by Route 60, Cornhole games, and Barbeque from BAM's.

The Beacon of Hope Cornhole Classic will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 (rain date Sunday, May 31st). The fun will start at 5:30 p.m. with tailgate-themed food and drinks. At 6:30 p.m. the Cornament will begin, followed by music and merriment to celebrate the Cornhole Champions and the winners of the first Cornhole Cup!

Cornhole Team Entry – made up of two team members of your choosing. Below are the sponsorship level details concerning this signature event for the Beacon of Hope:

  • $1,000 – Gold Medal Level: 1 Cornhole Team entry (consisting of 2 team players), a custom-made cornhole set with your company name and logo, 4 tickets to the event (2 for the team members plus 2 guests), and sponsorship recognition throughout the event.
  • $750 – Silver Medal Level: The same as the Gold Medal sponsor but there is no custom-made cornhole set included.

If you would prefer to just be part of the fun and watch you can also purchase tickets for $60 per person, to include food, beverages and live bluegrass by Route 60.

What is the purpose of the Beacon of Hope?
To instill in ALL Lynchburg City Public School students the aspiration to pursue AND to provide them with the tools and resources to attain a post-secondary education.

  • To provide college opportunities for those would not be able to attend college otherwise
  • To change the culture in the Lynchburg community to a PreK-16 division
  • To create a stream of qualified/educationally prepared talent for the greater Lynchburg workforce
  • To ensure that all children who graduate from Lynchburg City Schools are prepared for the next step in life:  4 year college, 2 year college, technical / community/trade school, industry certification
  • To improve the quality of life in our community by investing in our most precious resource—our children—who are our future
  • To compile and disseminate data on current and continuing post-secondary education of Lynchburg’s student
