x190606 D-DAY AT THE CHURCH Bedford Presbyterian Church

D-Day in the Church
recreated at Bedford Presbyterian Church

Thursday, June 6
Open for prayer: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Union Service 7:00 p.m.

Bedford Presbyterian Church played a significant role on D-Day. Church bells were rung, and the citizens of town walked to Bedford Presbyterian to join together in a Union Prayer service for world peace led by Bedford’s clergy.

Prayer Vigil
In recognition of its participation on that day and the weeks to follow, Bedford Presbyterian Church will again be open all day on Thursday, June 6th, just as it was 75 years ago. This will provide a chance for visitors to come in and pray once again for peace and for the safe return of our soldiers.

Union Service
At 7:00 pm, the church will hold a Union Service, as was done on D-Day in 1944, with ministers from the churches in town coming together to conduct a service for peace in our time.

Bedford Presbyterian Church is proud to sponsor these events as a part of our commemoration of 75 years since the D-Day invasion and 175 years since the construction of the Bedford Presbyterian Sanctuary at the corner of Main and Bridge Streets, in the Heart of Bedford.
