In Italian, La Rondine (pronounced LAH RAWN-DEE-NAY) means The Swallow, a bird that brings good luck and new beginnings.

Set in sophisticated Paris, our opera tells the story of Magda, wealthy but world-weary. She finds a way to relive her carefree youth when she meets a handsome young man from the countryside. A romantic adventure begins, with a bittersweet ending that only Puccini can express in music that is both melodic and heartbreaking.
