Foot-stomping folk/country/rock + Delicious (& Local) Food & Drink + Beautiful Country + A Worthy Cause = CVaLC's 2010 LAND JAM!
Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 19, 2010, from 3 to 7 pm for the Central Virginia Land Conservancy's Land Jam fundraiser. The event-- hosted by Lazy Days Winery Winery, 1351 North Amherst Highway (U.S.29), Amherst --will raise money to help CVaLC continue its work conserving land in Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, and Nelson Counties and Bedford and Lynchburg Cities.
Dave and Mel Ellis, the owners of Dish and Mangia restaurants in Lynchburg, will be catering this fundraiser with foods from local farms including Naked Creek Farms Organic Chicken (Concord, VA), EcoFriendly Farms Organic Pork (Moneta, VA), vegetarian chili, fresh salads and more.
The music will be rollicking with John Sines Jr. and Molimo. John Sines Jr. is a well-known local singer who has worked with some of the country music’s biggest stars including Travis Tritt, Waylon Jennings and George Jones. Molimo is a Nelson County based group featuring folk and rock.
Because the menu is largely locally grown and produced, amounts are limited, so get your tickets early!
